Eugene S. "Gene" Polgar of Orefield, Pennsylvania is a member of the Whitehall Lions Club and served as a 100% district governor, cabinet secretary / treasurer and chairman of his district's Membership, Extension and Convention committees. He has received nine Extension awards, five International President's Certificates of Appreciation, the Leadership Award, three International President's awards, both the District Governor's and Past District Governor's Extension awards, the Ambassador of Goodwill Award and the Melvin Jones Fellowship. Director Polgar is the executive director of the Lions Eye Bank of Delaware Valley and has received its highest citation, the Sight Seeker Award. He has also served as chairman of the Constitution and By-Laws Committee and Ad Hoc Committee of the Eye Bank Association of America. He has been cited on numerous occasions for his eye bank activities and other civic endeavors. Director Polgar and his wife Gladys, have three children.
